The latest model by Breitling is yet another pilot’s instrument timekeeper with the appropriate functions and appearance. It is an analog timekeeper equipped with a Superquartz movement and it has a chronograph function which allows the wearer to keep track of split times with high precision. There is also an option to switch through different time-zones with great ease and speed. Breitling Professional Chronospace Evo Night Mission is made with a modestly-sized black titanium housing. It has a blue face with the chrono counters in the same color.
Despite having a relatively distinctive new styling, novel Breitling Professional Chronospace Evo Night Mission retains the recognizable presence of a typical watch of the Grenchen-based brand. The piece is obviously styled after the appearance of a cockpit instrument which is very common for both the Professional series from which it derives, as well as for the entire palette of the brand’s products.
The newcomer has its dial in a Mariner Blue shade which is at this point the only available color for its face. The dial features the chronograph counters in the same tone with almost all of its indications and accents in white color. The exceptions to this general rule are the 12 o’clock hour marker, a seconds hand, and the stop watch pointers which are all gray. This makes the dial fairly legible, even though its oversized hour markers make it seem a bit crowded. The dial features three stop watch counters, as well as a date aperture which is nudged between four and five o’clock counters.
Breitling Professional Chronospace Evo Night Mission is supplied with a Superquartz movement which makes it a bit more affordable and also less desirable and exclusive. To be precise, it is Breitling 73 caliber. It is a thermo-compensated quartz mechanism which allows its stop watch feature to measure the elapsed intervals with the precision up to 1/10th of a second. Additionally, the fly-back central seconds hand of the chronograph allow the measurement of split times. The caliber has another trait that is handy to pilots or world travelers – its fast action time zone change feature. It is powered with a battery that lasts for up to three years.
The latest newcomer from the Breitling Professional series is placed inside a round housing made of black titanium. It is 43 mm wide and 12.6 mm thick which makes it more wearable, especially considering the relatively reduced height of the model. Moreover, the watch features a uni-directional rotating bezel, a solid metal case-back, and a sapphire crystal with glare-proof coatings on both of its sides. Breitling Professional Chronospace Evo Night Mission is waterproof to 100 meters. Without its attachment, the timekeeper weighs just a bit over 67 grams.
Speaking of the wristlet, the strap of choice is Diver Pro rubber attachment with a lowered central section around the protruded inscription with the brand’s name. The strap locks with a tang- type buckle. Unlike most other models of the same manufacturer where the choice of materials and colors of the attachments is much broader, in this instance the only options for the color of the rubber strap are black and blue.
