The high-end watchmaker from the Swiss town of Grenchen has announced the release of the new limited edition of Chronomat 41, a superb timekeeper equipped with Breitling’s famous proprietary B 01 movement. It is very interesting that this special edition includes timepieces with transparent case backs. This enables a rare opportunity to see the functioning of the Breitling’s first in-house developed caliber which is not the case in the basic model. The watch also has an all-black dial with red second and chrono subsidiary hands contributing to the overall sporty and dynamic appearance that resembles a look of an instrument panel.
Breitling Chronomat 41 Limited Edition timepiece is, as it has been mentioned, equipped with the brand’s pride and joy, caliber B 01 automatic mechanical column-wheel chronograph movement with a power storage of about 70 hours. It also includes a mechanism that allows the setting of its date without stopping the watch’s functioning. The caliber with 47 integrated jewels is fitted into a housing made from stainless steel with highly polished finish which is replicated on its metal bracelet and its one-directional ratcheted rotating bezel with engraved numerals. On both sides of the case, Breitling utilized sapphire crystal. At the front side of the watch, sapphire is cambered and treated with double antireflective coating. Since the case back is also see-through, the limited edition of Chronomat 41 has lower water resistance than the basic model. While the series produced version has a screwed solid case back and is resistant to depths to 300 meters below the surface, the limited edition is water proof to 200 meters (660 feet).
As it is clear from the name of the model, its diameter is 41 mm, which places this product in the category of middle-sized men’s timekeepers. The thickness of the round steel housing is 15.4 mm. Breitling Chronomat 41 Limited Edition watch also has a screw-locked crown with two gaskets. The special edition of Chronomat 41 is available only with a five-row Pilot steel bracelet with alternating links. The limited series with a black dial by Breitling is restricted to 2,000 pieces.
