Just as its name suggests, Breitling for Bentley GMT Midnight Carbon is a pitch-black timekeeper with a powerful presence. The “Midnight Carbon” part of the watch’s name comes from the fact that this timekeeper has a case and a knurled bezel forged from powerful looking black steel, the material that was created after the steel was treated with an exceptionally resistant carbon-based coating. Other aesthetic details that define the appearance of the 1/8th of a second automatic chronograph are its black dial and rubber strap which is attached to the case with asymmetric lugs. The watch from the limited edition of Breitling for Bentley range includes a GMT function, or in other words, it has a central hand that completes the full revolution in 24 hours while pointing on the appropriate hour scale on the edge of the dial. This hand, which is in red color, is set to GMT time, and it can be used to tell the time in the major cities of the world with the use of a rotational pinion bezel with city markings.

The crown and pushers are also made from black steel.

Inside the circular housing of this men’s timepiece, there is a mechanical self-winding Breitling Caliber 47B (base movement ETA 2892-A2) with 38 jewels. The automatic caliber includes a 30-second chronograph function, which means that the chronograph second hand makes a full circle around the dial in a half of a minute. This allows more precise reading and its accuracy of 1/8th of a second. Besides, Breitling’s Caliber 47B includes a power storage of two days and runs on the frequency of 28,800 vph.

Breitling for Bentley GMT Midnight Carbon Limited Edition timekeeper has a Royal Ebony black face with 30-second, 15-minute and 6-hour chrono subsidiary counters in the same tone. GMT and chrono hands are in red color, while the hour and minute hands are with luminous coating, just like its hour markers. The selected attachment for this model is a rubber GMT strap with a pushbutton folding clasp made from black steel. The black Breitling for Bentley with a poetic name is made in the limited edition of 1,000 pieces.

People always ask me why I like Breitling watches, and I tell them just one thing – because of the Breitling for Bentley watches. Honestly, I don’t like the dials designs, but I’m impressed with the rest of the watch.

  2. Joe Smith October 4, 2012

I really didn’t expect such an ugly watch from Breitling. A watch with a rubber strap really isn’t for my taste. I really like the watches with steel bracelets. Those kinds of watches are definitely the best. Another disadvantage of the watch is the price. For that amount of money, I expect to have a watch with great features. Excuse me, but this watch isn’t so great as everybody thinks.
