Breitling is launching a new restricted series of its Bentley 6.75 model that has been around for some time. The latest 1,000 piece dubbed Breitling for Bentley 6.75 Midnight Carbon does not offer many changes when it comes to the essence of the product, namely its movement and functions. Instead, the changes are mostly superficial and restricted to DLC treatment for its hefty steel casing and the new type of a partially skeletonized black face. The latest watch by Breitling for Bentley is otherwise pretty much the same as before and powered by identical B44 self-winding chronograph movement which features an oversized double aperture date indication. As for the wristlet, the only option in this instance is a rubber strap in black color that matches the case and the dial.
Breitling for Bentley 6.75 timepiece serves as the tribute to famous Bentley Mulsanne limousines which boast powerful 6.75 liters engines. The watch itself has been around for nearly a decade in a few other iterations that are different among each other only when it comes to the exterior. The basic characteristics remain the same, regardless of the version.
Midnight Carbon Clothing
One of the most notable changes present in the latest restricted series is the presence of Breitling’s recognizable “midnight carbon” coating which is basically DLC treatment that is responsible for the notable black shade of the large housing with satin brushed finish and its typical knurled bezel which is made to resemble the radiator grill of a Bentley vehicle. Another interesting feature is the presence of the distinguishable five-spoke motif in combination of black and metallic colors which decorates the solid metal case back and resembles the wheels of the car that is honors. Finally, the watch likewise has a distinctive version of the face in a black royal ebony color that works well in the combination with the same colored housing. The face is partially skeletonized with vertical striping, which allows a glimpse on the watch’s movement.
Busy Dial and Large Diameter
Apart from the distinctive cladding, the watch is the same as it has been since 2005 when it first came out. It is quite large with the diameter of 49 mm and the thickness of 15.6 mm. It has a pretty cramped dial which will require a distinctive taste and probably some likeness towards Bentley cars that it honors. The black face displays tri compax layout for the chronograph feature (with counters for small seconds, 12 hours and 30 minutes at three, six and nine o’clock positions, respectively) and includes an oversized date display with two separate windows. On the outskirts of the dial, there is a chapter ring with bar-shaped hour markers. Even further out, we can notice a mentioned rotation pinion knurled with a circular slide rule for computations. The black dial of Breitling for Bentley 6.75 timekeeper can be seen through a cambered sapphire crystal which has anti-reflective treatment on both sides.
The large housing of the newcomer, just like its predecessors with the Bentley 6.75 designation is with a screw-locked crown and waterproofness that measures to 100 meters. Inside the round case there is chronometer-certified Calibre 44B chronograph self-winding caliber. It is a 38 jeweled movement based on ETA 2892 caliber that runs at the frequency of 28,800 vph and has a power storage of 42 hours.
By the choice of the manufacturer, the 1,000-piece restricted series is only available with Bentley II rubber strap in black color. This sort of wristlet features inscriptions that say “Bentley” over and under the case and has a raised central segment that replicates the grilled motif which can be also seen at the bezel. The rubber band locks with a pushbutton folding clasp.
As it is customary for Breitling, there is no official information regarding the price of the new model with the lengthy reference number M4436413/BD27/220S/M20DSA.2. However, if you are interested in the exact value of the 1,000-piece limited edition watch (with the roughly estimated value of around $10,000), we recommend that you contact the official Breitling dealer in your region.
