Ladies’ timepieces have been in the center of Blancpain’s attentions since 1930 when the Swiss manufacturer was a pioneer in the history of watches for women and the developer of the first ladies’ self-winding wristwatch. The trend of putting female clientele on important place countinues. This year, the Swatch Group-owned watchmaker unveiled its newest feminine model – the Blancpain Heure Decentre Petite Seconde Retrograde Watch.
Nowadays, women don’t want the timepieces that are nearly an afterthought and which only have a supporting role to men’s watches. Blancpain have understood this message. With this novelty the Swiss-based luxury manufacturer has ensured that women no longer have to choose between the aesthetic and technical values of a timepiece.
Blancpain Heure Decentre Petite Seconde Retrograde (ref. 3650A-3754-58B) is equipped with the in-house manufactured caliber 2663SR mechanical movement that is built on 226 individual parts. The self-winding mechanism oscillates at the rapid frequency of 28,800 beats per hour (4 Hz).
In addition to its delicate mechanics, the new Blancpain stands apart for its delicate lines, harmonious proportions, and the 152 diamonds that sparkle from its bezel and dial, thus creating a perfect visual balance.
The watch is housed in a red gold case which measures 36.8mm in diameter. The feminine case is encrusted with 108 diamonds weighing one carat. The gem-setting, composed of two interwoven rows of diamonds in various sizes, echoes the emblematic double-stepped case design of the Blancpain. There is also a diamond on the crown which adds the final touch of refinement.
Underneath the front sapphire glass lies a beautiful dial that features an off-centered hours and minutes sub-dial at the 12 o’clock position which incorporates four polished Arabic numerals (3, 6, 9 and 12) and drop-shaped openworked hour and minute hands. The retrograde 30-second indication is situated at the 6 o’clock position, alongside with the Blancpains signature.
The watch has a see through sapphire glass case back where you can take a glimpse at the Côtes de Genève finish, as well as at the oscillating weight shaped like a five-petal flower.
Blancpain Heure Decentre Petite Seconde Retrograde ladies’ watch is available in three different variants: a red gold case and a white mother-of pearl dial, a white gold variation with a blue mother-of-pearl dial and a stainless steel model with a white dial.
The gold versions are teamed with white ostrich leather straps, whilst the steel model comes with an alligator leather strap.
