This month at SIHH 2015, Baume & Mercier will commemorate 20th anniversary of its Hampton collection with two new Hampton models. These newcomers boast interesting design housed in elegant rectangular bodies. Although the design of the face is still very classical, the case bands are alternating concave and convex shapes.
Baume & Mercier Hampton Automatic Watch is housed in a polished stainless steel case measuring 31mm x 47mm. The thickness of the case is only 10mm. These two novelties differ for the dial. The first one with the referent number M0A10155 matches blued hands and silver numerals, whilst the model with the reference M0A10156 sports gilt hands and gilt numerals. One thing is common for both models – the sword-shaped hands stand out very clearly against the off-white background.
In general, the dial remains very classical to keep the atmosphere elegant and dressed. The dial also comprises a discreet minute track printed in black and a small black-on-white date display which is traditionally located at the 6 o’ clock position.
The profile of the case is characterized by the recessed surfaces located at 3 and 9 o’clock positions, which perfectly fits with the domed watch crystal. Furthermore, the curved case is quite comfortable and perfectly sports the wearer’s wrist.
The new Hampton Automatic Watch is equipped with a precise and reliable ETA-2892-A2 movement with automatic winding. The impeccable mechanism has a the beating rate of 28,800 alternations per hour (4 Hz) and is capable to store enough power to keep the watch ticking for at least 42 hours when fully charged. The movement’s finishes include perlage and blued screws, as well as Geneva Stripes on the rotor. The oscillating weight which is personalized with snailed decor and Côtes de Genève can be seen through the transparent case back.
Depending on a model, the new Baume & Mercier Hampton Automatic Watch is teamed with either black or brown alligator strap, each ending with a steel folding buckle. The retail price is approximately $2,700.
