At the upcoming SIHH 2013 which is going to be held in Geneva, from January 21 to January 25, Baume & Mercier will officialy launch the completely new line of men’s watches – the Clifton Collection. The design of the new models is inspired by a vintage 1950s Baume & Mercier timepiece, while at the same time, it represents an evolution of the brand’s old Classima collection. The new Clifton timepieces are modern and stylish, but the classic look still remains.
I have already introduced to you the new Clifton 1830 Watch that is equipped with the impeccable manual winding caliber 7381 thal allows no less than 90 hours of power reserve (the mechanism is exclusively manufactured for B&M by the La Joux-Perret). Today, I will share with you some information that I got about the new Clifton Small Seconds Watch which will be available in three variants.
The new Clifton Small Seconds Watch is housed in a round stainless steel case with the diameter of 41mm and the thickness of almost 12mm (or to be precise 11.54mm). Its polished and satin-finished steel case is domed with glare-proof and scratch-resistant sapphire crystals.
The new Clifton is powered by the Sellita SW260-1 automatic movement that has been encrusted with circular graining on the bridges and a snailed pattern on the rotor.
The precise mechanism provides full 38 hours of power reserve when fully charged. In addition to hours and minutes, this Clifton has a small seconds sub-dial and a date indication. A small seconds counter is located at the 6 o’clock position, whereas a date window is situated at the 3 o’clock position.
As I have mentioned above, there are three versions of the Clifton Small Seconds timepiece. Two of them have sun satin-finished silver-colored dials with Arabic numerals and indexes. The first model with the referent number 10052 has blued steel hands and it is accompanied with a black alligator strap, while the second one with the reference 10054 matches gild hands and apliques and comes attached to a brown alligator strap having a triple folding clasp with security push-pieces.
The third Clifton Small Seconds watch has a sun satin-finished black dial and rhodium-plated hands. The model with the referent number 10053 is attached to a square scales brown alligator leather strap, also fitted with a triple folding clasp.
As it is reported by the manufacturer, all Clifton models, including Small Seconds line, will be available in stores in April 2013 for the retail price from $2,700 to $6,300.
