Baume & Mercier presented four new Classima men’s timepieces. These newcomers are classical looking wristwatches with modern elegance.

The new Classima watches are housed in round dressy cases which measure 40mm in diameter and 8.95mm in thickness. The new 3-hand model is characterized by the redesigned dial with a guilloché decored center. The dial comprises a date window which is located at the 3 o’clock position and a blued steel or gilt hours, minutes and seconds hands which give the visual balance to the elegant composition of the new Classima models. There are also applied hour indexes which include Roman numerals at the quarter hours (12, 3, 6 and 9).

From the rear, the view through the sapphire display back is quite impressive and reveals the Swiss made mechanical self-winding movements with côtes de Genève, as well as the oscillating weight engraved with the Baume & Mercier logo and the emblem of the golden ratio – the Greek letter Phi. This symbol can also be found on the crown.

The mechanism is built off of a Sellita SW200 base caliber, which is similar to the well-known ETA 2824. The self-winding movement oscillates at the rapid frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) and it is built on 26 jewels. The impeccable caliber offers 38 hours of power reserve.

Two new Classima timepieces are crafted from polished stainless steel and there is a choice between two types of wristlets. The first model (ref. 10215) is attached to a steel bracelet which alternates thin and thick links. The bracelet fits seamlessly into the lugs. For those who more appreciate refined look, Baume & Mercier offered a steel model (ref. 10214) teamed with a dark brown alligator strap with square scales. Whichever of these two models you choose, it will be secured to your wrist with a triple-folding clasp with push-pieces.

The Swiss watchmaker also offered two two-toned versions of the new Classima watch. They are also housed in a stainless steel case, but with a bezel plated in rose gold. The indexes and hands on its dial are rose-gold plated. There is also a choice between two types of bands: a black alligator leather strap and a steel bracelet that maintains a two-tone design.

The two-tone version with a bracelet can be purchased for $4,450, while the variant with a strap coasts 3,350. The all-steel models are more affordable with the retail price of $2,600 for the watch with a strap and $2,700 for the one that is attached to a bracelet.

All four Baume & Mercier Classima watches for men are constructed to resist water pressure up to 50 meters (about 165 feet).
