The Swiss watchmaking house, Baume & Mercier, announced a new limited edition Capeland watch, exclusively for the US and exclusively available at select Tourneau stores nationwide. The new Capelend is brand’s first ever limited edition timepiece for the US market and it will make its US debut in October 2012.
The Capeland Flyback Chronograph with the referent number 10088 will be produced in the limited quantity of 250 numbered pieces.
This newcomer boasts a unique copper-colored dial which is a nice change compared with the originally Capeland Flyback Chronograph Watch with a black or white dial. Thus, the new watch looks especially handsome. Further, its blue hands, blue tachymeter scale and black telemeter scale match perfectly with dial surface.
Like previous Capeland Flyback Chrono models, the new timepiece is housed in a mid-sized case with the diameter of 44 mm. Its round case is a polished and satin-finished stainless steel with an anti-glare face. The watch case is protected with a sapphire crystal treated with anti-reflective coating. On the right side of the case, there is a screw-down crown and two chronograph pushers which are charmingly-designed and suit perfectly with the watch. Its oversized crown is signed with the Greek letter PHI on the tip which is a symbol of balance and perfection of Baume & Mercier. The pushers are pump-styled and slightly domed, with a slight dimple around their circumference.
The beautiful dial comprises two chronograph counters and a black-on-white date window which is situated between 4 and 5 o’clock positions. The 30 minutes chrono counter is positioned at the three o’clock position, whilst the 60 seconds sub-dial is located on the opposite side, at the nine o’clock position.
Just like its ancestor that appeared at the start of the year at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie, it is powered with the Joux-Perret caliber 8147-2 Flyback chronograph movement that is exclusively produced by La Joux-Perret for Baume & Mercier. The high-quality self-winding movement is beautifully encrusted with perlage, Geneva stripes and blued screws and the open-worked oscillating rotor bears the Greek PHI letter once again.
The Flyback Chronograph Movement is visible through a sapphire crystal case back. For the best comfort of the wearer, this year’s Capeland Limited Edition Watch comes with a premium quality black alligator strap with a pin buckle. The new US exclusive Capeland will hit selected Tourneau stores this October and it will be available for the retail price of $7,900.
