The latest addition to the Slim d’Hermès collection is an exclusive Slim d’Hermès Quantième Perpétuel model in platinum which will be officially unveiled at the upcoming Baselworld 2017 watch show. The world’s biggest event for the jewelry and watch industry will be held from March 23 to March 30, 2017.
Hermès Slim d’Hermès Quantième Perpétuel Platine is an entirely in-house crafted perpetual calendar model housed in a precious 39.50mm platinum case. This exceptional novelty features a stunning blue dial with silver-toned transferred Arabic numerals with the font which is especially designed for the Slim collection. As we can see on these images, the slim hands stand out nicely against the beautiful dial.
The gorgeous blue dial offers date, month, dual-time and leap year indications which are displayed on different sub-dials. Month and leap year indications share the same counter located at the 9 o’clock position, whilst the date can be read at the 12 o’clock position. There is also a mother-of-pearl moon phase which adorns an aventurine sky backdrop set at the 3 o’clock position.
The beating heart of the Slim d’Hermès Quantième Perpétuel is the ultra-thin Manufacture H1950 mechanical movement with Agenhor perpetual calendar module which ensures that the date of months with 30 and 31 days is set automatically, whilst taking account of leap years by indicating February 29th every four years without any adjusting.
The self-winding movement is built on 29 rubies (+3 jewels for module) and operates at the semi-rapid frequency of 21,600 alternations per hour (3 Hz). The impeccable and reliable mechanism can store enough energy to keep the watch ticking for no less than 42 hours when fully wound. The movement is adorned with a ‘sprinkling of Hs’ and meticulously hand-beveled. Its inner beauty can be admired via the sapphire crystal case back. The water resistance is assured down to 30 meters (about 100 feet).
The last but not the least, the new Slim d’Hermès Quantième Perpétuel is attached to a matching Abyss blue alligator leather strap reflecting the outstanding leather craftsmanship of the Swiss manufacturer. The watch will be kept secured to its future owners wrists with platinum pin-buckles. The retail price is Euro 33,500 which is approximately $35,700.
