Each year at Baselword watch fair, Tissot launches a new version of its T-Race MotoGP Chronograph. This year is no exception. Last week we had a chance to see the T-Race MotoGPTM Automatic Chronograph Limited Edition 2015 that once again pays homage to the brand’s long term partnership with MotoGP World Championship. The latest collection of T-Race MotoGP limited edition timepieces comprises of five new models.
This newcomer boasts sharp design and no detail on the watch is neglected. Compared with the last year’s model, this novelty boasts a fresh new look. The design of its case is especially cool with flexible horns and indices coated with Superluminova. The screws that fix the brake disc to the wheel are reminiscences of the small parts of the motorbikes themselves, while pushers are shaped like bike foot rests. The bracelet’s attachment took inspiration from back suspension rods, whereas the dynamic GT stripes add to the sporty look of the watch.
T-Race MotoGPTM Automatic is housed in a round stainless steel case which measures 45mm in diameter and 15.98mm in thickness. The steel case is treated with black PVD. The watch is powered with the Swiss-made automatic movement which is visible via a wheel-shaped sapphire crystal case back window.
The new Tissot T-Race Watch is domed with anti-reflective sapphire crystals and constructed to resist water pressure of up to 100 meters (approximately 330 feet). Underneath the front glass lies a gray dial with a checkered-flag pattern and “starting grid” indices. Traditionally, at the 3 o’clock position there is a magnified date window. The hands are coated with superluminova for better visibility in low light conditions. The dial is surrounded by a tachymeter scale.
The watch is teamed up with a black silicone strap with a red racing stripe, fitted with a push-button folding clasp.
Tissot T-Race MotoGPTM Automatic Chronograph (ref. T092.427.27.061.00) comes in its own very smart helmet box and it is issued in the limited series of 3,333 pieces. Tissot also launched a quartz version of T-Race MotoGPTM which is produced in the limited quantity of 8,888 specimens, and three other limited-edition quartz models which are personalized for a trio of MotoGP athletes and Tissot’s ambassadors Nicky Hayden, Stefan Bradl, and Thomas Lüthi.
