Three years ago, the new high-end watchmaking brand HYT introduced the first watch ever, featuring mechanical and fluid dynamic time indications HYT H1. For this year’s Baselworld watch fair, HYT prepares yet another innovative wristwatch that will change everything that you thought you knew about the Swiss independent manufacturer.

HYT H3 Watch
HYT H3 Watch has a linear liquid indicator for the hours along a rotating cubic linear hour scale, together with a retrograde minute hand. The watch completely changes perspective of HYT’s concept with a new case, a new movement and a new way of showing time. There is one thing that remains the same – the brand’s trademark yellowish green fluid.
This newcomer shows the time in a straight line instead in the circle one. The retrograde part in the movement now bolds itself on a dial in which hours and minutes are entirely separated. The transmission is compeltely new considering the fact that the two pistons are opposed horizontally.

HYT H3 Watch Hours
The upper part of the dial is reserved for two pistons that drive the fluids. The left piston drives the progression of the fluid and therefore the time display. The right piston reimburses for this progression in the capillary.
The watch shows the day in six-hour periods. The position of the fluid above the bar displays the exact hour, whilst the minutes below are also indicated linearly. A double articulated arm shows the exact minute on a segment scale of 60.

HYT H3 Watch Profile
All indications of the watch can be set simply by pressing a button. When the button is pressed the 6-hour bar rotates once, thus allowing the wearer to jump to the right period of the day. After that, the hour and minutes can be set simply by turning the crown.
The glass tube which operates in a vacuum is the same as on the previous HYT timepieces. It contains two fluids. The first water-based one is a yellow fluid which serves to tell the time, while the second viscous-based translucent fluid works in opposition. The retrograde component of the movement means that when it reaches the end of the tube, it than goes back in a few seconds to its original place to start the journey again.
The watch is housed in a rectangular-shaped case that is 62mm wide and 41mm tall with the thickness of 16mm. The case is crafted from charcoal gray PVD-coated titanium and platinum with a micro-blasted satin finish. The sides of the case are shaped like a drop, which means that the top is substantially curved.

Moreover, the horizontal direction of the new HYT H3 Watch is very ergonomic and it looks perfect on a wrist. Although this watch seems to be massive according to its dimensions, it does not actually look so large when being worn.
The reverse side of the watch reveals 2 barrels for a 170-hour power reserve and a power reserve indicator. The movement is finished with micro-blasted charcoal gray PVD-coated titanium bridges with titanium-colored satin-finished accents and rhodium-plated bellows.
HYT H3 Watch is teamed up with a black alligator leather strap. This novelty will be produced in the limited quantity of 25 pieces and it will be priced 280,000 Swiss Francs which is almost $285,000. The watch will be officially presented at Baselworld 2015 and it will go on sale from September 2015.
