This year, the Geneva-based watchmaking company de Grisogono celebrates its 15th anniversary. Since 2000, the Swiss luxury manufacturer has been a part of the selected circle of Haute Horlogerie Maisons and has demonstrated its commitment to meet the highest standards of quality in the conception, as well as in the development and production of watches and movements.
At Baselword 2015, de Grisogono will continue this tradition with their latest timepiece named de Grisogono Instrumento N°Uno Annual Calendar. As its name suggests, this newcomer features the annual calendar indicator which provides it to run for an entire year without any adjustments, except at the end of February when it requires a manual correction.
The new de Grisogono timepiece keeps with the familiar style of the very first watch that de Grisogono launched 15 years ago – Instrumento N°Uno.
The novelty features an asymmetrical design which is rounded off with a new integrated bracelet which is perfectly integrated with the 18-karat rose gold case. The final result is the masculine and sporty look of the watch. On the right side of the case there is a a black diamond which tops the crown, thus bringing a touch of elegance to the new de Grisogono timepiece. It matches perfectly with a black leather strap, as well as a black dial surface. The Swiss manufacturer also offered a version with an old silver dial.
The beating heart of the Instrumento N°Uno Annual Calendar is caliber QA 20-89 mechanical movement. The self-winding mechanism has a beating rate of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) and it can provide at least 42 hours of power reserve when fully wound.
The watch’s case is shielded with sapphire crystals and it is constructed to provide water resistance of up to 30 meters (circa 100 feet). Underneath the front glass lies either black or old silver dial which has been entirely updated in order to free up as much space as possible to make place for the month and small second displays. The arabesques of the numbers 5, 6, 7 have been removed to give pride of place to month and small seconds counters, while the upper side of the dial is reserved for a day aperture which has been enlarged in order to ensure utmost legibility.
The last but not the least, a triple blade folding clasp in rose gold will keep the new de Grisogono Instrumento N°Uno Annual Calendar watch secured to the wearer’s wrist.
