At this year’s Basel watch fair (from 27 March until 3 April), Glashütte Original will prove once again its mastery of traditional watchmaking techniques. Glashütte Original PanoMaticInverse reveals the elegance of its impeccable automatic movement by making the duplex swan-neck fine adjustment visible from the dial side, thus allowing this exceptional achievement of engineering art to come to the fore.

Glashütte Original PanoMaticInverse Gold Watch Front
The new Glashütte Original PanoMaticInverse is a proud successor of the popular model PanoInverse XL which was first launched in 2008. This exceptional model was the very first of the Glashütte Original’s watches to reveal the inner beauty on the front side of the watch. To make this possible, it was necessary to revise some of the mechanism parts and to further develop individual components which finally resulted in a completely new design of the movement. The new Glashütte Original watch shares many of the design cues that made its ancestor so attractive and desirable. Compared to its predecessor which was the manually wound watch, the new model is the automatically wound timepiece.

Glashütte Original PanoMaticInverse Steel Watch
The beating heart of the new Glashütte is the impeccable caliber 91-02 automatic movement which can store enough power to keep the watch ticking for at least 42 hours. The backside of the mechanism can be seen via the sapphire crystal case back where you can admire the skeletonized central rotor, a 21-karat golden oscillating mass, as well as a gloriously encrusted rotor track.
Glashütte Original PanoMaticInverse is available in two variants: one made of satin brushed and polished red gold, and another one crafted from stainless steel. Both versions are fabulously encrusted with beautiful dials which showcase blued screws and rubies on the rhodium plated three-quarter plate with Glashütte ribbing, blued hands with Superluminova accents, and the breathtaking duplex swan-neck fine adjustment. Depending on a model, its dial features either red gold applied hour markers or heat-blued steel hour markers.

Glashütte Original PanoMaticInverse Gold Watch Dial
The asymmetric design of the dial watch preserves a generous amount of space to the breathtaking duplex swan-neck fine adjustment and corresponds to the off-center dial design characteristic of the Pano line from Glashütte Original. Its gorgeous dial also comprises an off-centered hour/minute subsidiary dial, a small second counter and Glashütte Original’s iconic Panorama Date.
The new PanoMaticInverse is attached to a Lousianna alligator leather strap that is closed with a steel or gold folding clasp. For the stainless steel version, Glashütte Original selected a suitably dark blue band of the strap, while for the red gold model, the German watchmaker chose the matching warm brown color.
