At the Baselworld 2014 watch fair, the independent watchmaker Franc Vila will officially unveil its latest model – the new Manual Suspended Skeleton Watch. This newcomer is a part of the famous Cobra Collection.

The new Manual Suspended Skeleton timepiece boasts the typical Franc Vila sporty look. The well-known watchmaker will offer two versions of this watch. The first one with a bezel made of titanium, steel and carbon fiber and the second one that features titanium bezel with black DLC coating and carbon fiber.

The large-sized case measures 45mm in diameter and it is coated with double antireflective sapphire crystals. The case construction provides water resistance of up to 100 meters (about 330 feet). The screw-down crown is situated on the right side of the case, at the 3 o’clock position and it is encrusted with the brand’s logo on its tip.

The watch’s dial is completely skeletonized and offers an unobstructed view at the impeccable caliber FV 18E mechanical movement. The hand-wound mechanism is entirely assembled and finished by hand and it provides no less than 46 hours of power reserve when fully wound. The 21 jewels movement oscillates at the rapid frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz). The in-house made caliber is also visible through the sapphire crystal case back.

The mechanism has been cased-up in total suspension and stabilized by an ingenious and inventive system of springs. This makes a great impression that the movement is levitating in the dial-free structure. The gorgeous dial comprises central hour and minute hands, as well as Arabic numerals and Franc Vila logo which are applied on the sapphire glass that protects the dial.

The new Franc Vila Manual Suspended Skeleton which will have its premiere this year in Basel will be issued in the ultra limited series of only 88 pieces. The watch is accompanied with a comfortable, black rubber strap with a folding clasp crafted either in stainless steel or in stainless steel with black DLC-coating.
