The Swiss watch manufacturer, Cuervo y Sobrinos, reveals a new ultra-slim Historiador Flameante Reserva de Marcha timepiece featuring a power reserve indicator. This vintage-inspired wristwatch is housed in a quite elegant case which is typical for Historiador models. Its gorgeous case is crafted from stainless steel which measures 40mm in diameter.
The new Cuervo y Sobrinos is an ultra- thin watch measuring only 8.65mm. The water resistance of the case is assured down to 30 meters (circa 100 feet) below water surface.
Underneath a double convex sapphire crystal glass which was typically used in the 1950s lies a fine, guilloche dial with Flameante decoration, applied index and applied CyS logo. Its charming silver dial comprises a small seconds counter located at the 6 o’clock position and a power reserve indicator situated on the opposite side, at the 12 o’clock position. Instead of the conventional sphere, its power reserve indicator uses a rotating disk. This once again proves a crucial component of the Cuervo y Sobrinos philosophy: continual technological innovation at the service of aesthetic harmony and balance. Thanks to the interesting pattern on the dial, this novelty symbolizes the spirit of the era of the 1950s.
The watch houses ETA 7001RM manual winding mechanism powering hours, minutes and seconds. The impeccable movement is built on 21 stones and has a beating frequency of 21,600 beats per hour (3 Hz). This ETA caliber guarantees 42 hours of power-reserve when fully charged.
When you turn the watch upside down, you can see a transparent and screwed case back through which you can enjoy the work of the precise and reliable mechanism. The bridges of the movement’s wheel are decorated with Côtes de Genève. The engraving on the movement holder reads “Testimony of style since 1882”, which perfectly summarizes the spirit and class that have distinguished Cuervo y Sobrinos history for more than 130 years.
The new Cuervo y Sobrinos Historiador Flameante Reserva de Marcha (ref. 3132.1FA) comes with a premium Louisiana alligator leather strap which is equipped with a stainless steel folding clasp with engraved CyS emblem. This vintage timepiece will be presented at the Baselworld 2014 exhibition which will be held from March 27 to April 3.
