The new DV One Skeleton Chronograph Watch perfectly combines the Versace’s most iconic watch case with its recognizable fashion sensibility. The celebrated Italian company, Versace, introduced this novelty during Baselworld 2013.
The originally designed timepiece is housed in a round, masculine case crafted from an alloy of ceramic and titanium. The case measures 43.5mm in diameter and perfectly fits with an average size wrist. The alloy of ceramic and titanium was selected because of its outstanding features. It is extremely hard and lightweight material that is strong enough and with high resistance to scratches.
The case of the new Versace wristwatch is shielded with sapphire crystals and it provides water resistance of up to 50 meters (100 feet) below water surface.
The case is equipped with a fixed bezel featuring a round tachymeter scale. The bracelet and the bezel are also made of ceramic titanium alloy. The crown and chronograph pushers are colored in IP rose gold and the same color accentuates the bezel.
The most interesting part of the watch is its dial which is divided into two hemispheres: the matte black left and the skeletonized right. The flange of the dial features applied hour markers plated with IP rose gold. The hour and minute hands are filled with a luminous material and a small amount of the lume substance has also been applied on hour indexes.
The matte black part of the dial features the celebrated Versace style and creativity. There are three sub-dials which are connected by way of a suspended IP rose gold bridge. The second part of the bridge which is colored in a purple blue and shaped like an arch stretches across the minute register and thus makes a perfect counterbalance to the open date display on the opposite side of the dial, at the 3 o’clock position. Besides blue, black and rose gold, there are also some red accents at the center of each counter and they match the tips of the small hands.
The east, skeletonized part of the dial allows a view at some of the components that make up the Dubois-Dépraz chronograph module and base movement. Here you can enjoy the finishing techniques of the Swiss automatic caliber ETA 2892, such as linear graining, polishing and perlage.
The new Versace DV One Skeleton Chronograph is secured to the wrist with a bracelet ending with a butterfly style folding buckle. This amazing timepiece is produced in the limited quantity of only 500 pieces.
