In order to mark its partnership with Ducati, Tudor launched a bold looking racing watch from a Fastrider collection, which immediately grabs the attention with its case in high-tech black matt ceramic and a matching dial, emphasized by striking red markers. The Geneva based watchmaker also offers a bronze-tone version of this attractive timepiece. As the addition to the new Fastrider Black Shield line, Tudor and Ducati customized one-of-a-kind Diavel Carbon motorcycle with a black matt finish and signature red highlighting on the details.
Baselworld 2013 has already brought us two stunning “all in black” ceramic Chronographs. (You can read the review of Omega Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon watch.) With its performances, reliability and aesthetics, the newest Tudor’s timepiece (Ref 42000CR) perfectly catches the spirit of the high-end motor racing. Its entire case is made from high-tech injected ceramic, as a single piece, in an extremely complex process that confirmed the brand’s extraordinary expertise and ensured the superb resistance of a the middle case and the bezel. The matt black case with bead-blasted finish has the diameter of 42 mm and incorporates a matching bezel with engraved tachymetric scale, as well as a screw-down winding crown and two chrono pushers in black PVD-coated steel.
Designed in the modern sporty style, a matt black dial is emphasized by a red seal, incorporated under a scratch-resistant and anti-reflective sapphire crystal glass. It nicely matches applied hour markers, chronograph hands, date indications and the tips of central hour and minute hands, which are all marked in red for both aesthetical and functional reasons.
Chronograph sub-dials are highly readable, thanks to the implementation of raised frames and red hands. The 30-minute counter takes the 3 o’clock position, the 12-hour chronograph is placed at the 6 o’clock, while the small seconds sub-dial takes the 9 o’clock position. The small date aperture is located between 4 and 6 o’clock positions.
Tudor Fastrider Black Shield watch is powered by a Calibre 7753 self-winding chronograph movement with the power-reserve of 46 hours. The watch is available either with a black rubber strap or a black leather strap with red stitching. The second version of this attractive racing model (Ref. 42000CN) is distinquished by bronze tint accents that are applied instead of red color, as well as by a strap in matching color.
