For the upcoming Baselworld 2013 watch show, Pierre DeRoche prepared the newest version of its signature TNT Royal Retro model, distinctive by the power-reserve indicator which is, along with four power-reserve wheels, visible at the 6 o’clock position. This new feature implied curtain changes at the open-worked dial. However, the basic design concept that follows the technological perfection of a delicately decorated retrograde seconds mechanism, clearly showcases the identity of the renowned watchmaker from Vallée de Joux.

Pierre DeRoche TNT Royal Retro Power Reserve Watch
Just like all previous models from the line, the newest TNT Royal Retro watch has an exclusive Dubois Dépraz self-winding movement, capable to incorporate 6 retrograde seconds mechanisms. However, since it features the power-reserve indicator for the first time, there are only 4 retrograde seconds hands with strip-spring return, driven by gears rather than cams. The mechanism also comprises 50 jewels, a decorated and engraved oscillating weight, a central bridge and 6 chamfered and satin-finished seconds bridges and a hand affixed by a transversal pin. Being perfectly executed and decorated, all these elements are completely visible through sapphire crystal that covers both sides of the case.
Central hands come in a nice blue color, as well as retrograde seconds hands which are, together with the power-reserve hand, marked with red tips. Due to the incorporation of the power-reserve indicator at the 6 o’clock position, the date window is removed from its usual position and placed at the 12 o’clock.

Pierre DeRoche TNT Royal Retro Power Reserve Watch Dial
Pierre DeRoche’s latest masterpiece has a robust case, with the diameter of 47.5 mm. Its central part is crafted in black PVD-coated titanium, while a bezel, polished lugs, a crown guard and a large crown come in stainless steel. The watch is available with a stylish black alligator strap, with blue stitching that nicely matches blue elements on the dial. The strap incorporates a stainless steel safety folding clasp.
The TNT Royal Retro Power Reserve watch has the solid water-resistance of 100 meters (330 feet), but I really doubt that many of you, future owners will use it in water. This stunning timepiece that will probably be released in the highly limited series presents the brand’s unique horological approach that each year grabs a ton of attention at the most important watch show.
