Once again, Maurice Lacroix created a stunning diver’s watch to be a prominent part of its renowned Pontos S Collection. Design in the vintage style that combines a robust sporty look with the classic elegance, the new Pontos S Diver watch perfectly matches aesthetic needs of a stylish man with the active life style. At the other hand, thanks to its high-end performances and the stunning water-resistance up to 600 meters (almost 2000 feet), it meets high standards which specify a wristwatch as an ultra-quality professional diving tool.
Along with other two Maurice Lacroix novelties from the Puntos S Collection which I have already introduced, the brand’s latest Diver watch will be presented at the upcoming watch show in Switzerland, 2013 Baselworld. If you are an avid watch fan, you can probably remember the exquisite Maurice Lacroix Pontos S Diving Chronograph Watch that the renowned Swiss brand presented last year in Basel to be one of the greatest sport models in 2012. The new model comes with an interesting touch of classic elegance and, what is particularly interesting for professional divers, with three time higher resistance to water-pressure, which is mostly the result of the implementation of a helium escape valve.
At the 3 o’clock position, there is a screw-down crown, decorated with the brand’s logo. Above it, there is another crown, large and vintage looking, for operating with an internal rotating bezel. Made of aluminum and highlighted by beautiful sandblasted finishes, this rotating ring features the minute scale for calculating diving time.
The central part of the dial is either matt black or opaline, featuring highly visible applied hour markers and minute indices, covered with Superluminova, for a superb readability. Hands are also covered with this luminescent material and additionally, minute and second hands come marked with red accents. The dial is protected with the anti-reflective sapphire crystal glass.
For the every-day wear, I recommend the version with a leather strap, either black or brown. The new Pontos Diver watch is also available with a matching stainless steel bracelet. Finally, each version comes with an additional NATO strap. This stunning timepiece is powered by a Swiss Caliber ML 115 self-winding mechanism (based Sellita) which oscillates at the frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and provides 38 hours of power reserve.
