The renowned Swiss watchmaker created a new line of stylish men’s timepieces, nicely representing the aesthetics of the traditional watchmaking in its everlasting lure. Executed with the exquisite taste in several variations that offer different combinations of dials and straps, Les Classiques Day/Date and Les Classiques Date watches seem like perfect choices for serious men with the refine style. Along with the series of the brand’s newest high-quality watches, these beautiful models will be presented at the Baselworld watch fair.
New Maurice Lacroix’s watches have pretty small cases, compared to trends in the watchmaking industry. However, the diameter of 38 mm goes perfectly with the design code and the authentic classic elegance which the Swiss watchmaker wanted to recall with its new line. Instead of creating a striking timepiece with overcrowded interface, it gave a special attention to several key details that together make the impression of the extraordinary design simplicity. Firstly, you can notice beautifully polished surfaces of stainless steel case edges and lugs, as well as on the bezel which is additionally decorated with simple but attractive curves.
The dial features an exquisite design, characteristic for the brand’s latest models. By using different patterns and finishes, the renowned watchmaker made it looks large, deep, highly readable and pretty interesting, without spoiling the simple form of classic timepieces. The central part is decorated with the beautiful sunburst finish, featuring day and date apertures or just a date aperture (depending on a model). It is framed with the circular pattern with applied hour markers. Finally, there is a minute scale, running over the outer rim. Central hands and markers are covered with luminescent material for the higher legibility, which is additionally increased by an anti-reflective sapphire crystal glass that covers the dial.
Les Classiques Day/Date watch comes in several stunning variations, with the choice of a stainless steel bracelet or a leather strap. My favorite one is the model with the gray sun brushed dial and the great looking multi-link steel bracelet. Furthermore, there is a more stylish version with a yellow gold plated bezel and a white dial, featuring a bracelet that combines alternating rows of gold plated and stainless steel links.
There is a very elegant version of Les Classiques Date watch that combines a stylish brown leather strap with a white dial and a yellow gold plated bezel.
Besides, there is a great black dial variation with a marching leather strap. All models are powered with Swiss quartz movements and provide minimal water-resistance of up to 30 meters.
