The renowned Swiss watchmaker once again experimented with its Fusion concept, giving us a pleasure to see a feminine version of a Big Bang case in a snowy white ceramic. A number of other materials, such as diamonds, titanium, white composite resin, rubber and stainless steel perfectly fit with the gentle white color of the case and the bezel, as well as with the snow leopard print denim that comes as the main motif of the watch. New Hublot Snow Leopard Big Bang watch is produced in the limited series of 50 pieces to pay tribute to its ambassador, a double Olympic Champion and Double World Champion, Maria Höfl-Riesch.
It is not a coincidence that the creative Swiss watchmaker picked this striking design for the watch that bears the name of Maria Höfl-Riesch. As she explained while representing the watch, snow leopard is her favorite animal that has characters so similar to her. “It is a solitary creature, but a fighter, and it emanates this calm strength. Sadly, they are at risk of extinction and there are now just a few remaining. I am delighted that Hublot has created a watch inspired by this animal”, said one of the greatest skiers in the world.
This is the second Hublot’s timepiece this year inspired by an animal. At SIHH 2013, it launched Big Bang “Zebra Bang” watch that shows a very similar design, of course, with patterns that recall a different animal. Arrangements on their dials are completely the same. Eight yellow diamonds serve as hour markers, hands are rhodium-plated, faceted and polished, while three chronograph sub-dials take 3, 6 and 9 o’clock positions, and the date window is located between 4 and 5 o’clock positions. The snow leopard colored dial matches the leopard print denim which is stitched onto a white rubber strap.
The diameter of the ceramic case is 41 mm which is the standard size for the brand’s Big Bang watches created for women. The round ceramic bezel is fixed with 6 H-shaped titanium screws which are embedded, polished and locked. Its lug, as well as lateral inserts, come in white composite resin, while the crown and chronograph push-buttons are made of steel and covered with white rubber inserts.
Crafted in stainless steel, the case-back features a transparent central part, covered with sapphire crystal with the signature of Maria Riesch. It opens a view on the mechanical parts. It is an in-house HUB4300 self-winding chronograph mechanism. This high-quality movement provides a power-reserve of 42 hours. This attractive sporty watch with a cheeky style and a subtle doze of luxury is water-resistant up to 100 meters (330 feet).
