Girard-Perregaux has prepared a new gift for confident women with refined tastes. The new Vintage 1945 Lady Watch is housed in a retro looking square case which is encrusted with shining white diamonds. Further, the beating heart of the watch is Caliber GP02700-0003 – the latest in line of the GP’s self-winding mechanical calibers.
The new Vintage 1945 Lady from Girard-Perregaux brings the aesthetics of the early twentieth century with the straight lines and curves. It is housed in a square case which features that familiar to all art deco fans combinations of surfaces and textures. Its feminine case is crafted from stainless steel and measures 28.2mm x 27.85mm. The spherical profile of its case here takes on a sensual appeal.
As you can see on the picture above, the crown is perfectly integrated to allow the watch’s profile to shine. Two rows of diamonds set on its bezel give a dose of luxury and glamour, while anti-glare sapphire crystal glass protects the watch’s case and provides the exceptional legibility. A sapphire glass case back of the watch is secured with 4 screws and the case is constructed to resist water pressure up to 30 meters (about 100 feet).
The face of the new ladies’ watch features every single detail you can expect from the Vintage 1945 series. A dauphine-styled hour and minute hands and the central rectangular rail track are the trademarks of this line.
Its elegant dial is encrusted with hand-applied Arabic numeral 12 which is exquisitely enthroned above Girard-Perregaux’s logo. A discreet date window is placed on the opposite side, at the 6 o’clock position. At 3 and 9 o’clock positions, two sparkling diamond hour markers balance the composition. Apart from these two diamonds, the watch has 32 diamonds totally weighing 0.55 carats.
The watch is powered by the in-house manufactured caliber GP02700-0003 mechanical movement that offers minimum 36 hours of power reserve when fully charged. The self-winding mechanism is built on 26 jewels and oscillates at the rapid frequency of 28,800 beats per hour (4 Hz). Considering the fact that it has only 19.4mm in diameter, it is perfect for small ladies timepieces.
This movement has the unidirectional oscillating weight mounted on a ceramic ball-race to avoid problems of lubricating the rotor. Also, it has an original gear train which offers the choice of showing the seconds at the center or on a small counter at 9 or 10 o’clock positions, without an extra module.
Girard-Perregaux offers two versions of the new Vintage 1945 Lady Watch. The first one with the referent number 25860D11A121-CK7A comes with a silvered dial and a white alligator leather strap, while the version with the reference 25860D11A221-CK6A matches an anthracite dial and a black alligator strap.
