If you are a lover of the classic elegance and the high-end technology that stands behind the everlasting design, you will probably love a new Carl F. Bucherer Manero PowerReserve watch. Impressive by its design simplicity that emphasizes the functional side of the watch, this sophisticated model brings back the best from the Swiss watchmaking tradition. The new Manero will be presented at the upcoming Baselworld 2013 watch show.
This watch is the first Manero model that uses the brand’s advanced CFB A1011 Caliber self-winding mechanism. It comes as the advancement of a CFB A1002 Manufacture Caliber, indicating the power-reserve by a pointer that contributes to a classical style of the watch. Complexity of its special components is visible through a sapphire-crystal case-back, including peripheral, bidirectional oscillating weight that provides energy for the automatic gear train, as well as a patented dynamic shock absorber, charged for high-end efficiency and reliability.
The diameter of 42.5mm seems like the perfect choice for this kind of watch – robust enough to be a visible accessory of the modern man, but still not far away from the vintage design code. The case of the new Carl F. Bucherer Manero PowerReserve watch is made of brushed stainless steel that goes either with a brown Louisiana alligator strap, including a stainless steel pin lock folding clasp or with a matching steel bracelet.
Clear and highly readable dial features two rings, distinctive by different shades of silver color. The lighter central ring comes with several indications: the power-reserve indicator takes the 3 o’clock position, the small seconds sub-dial is at the 6 o’clock, while the day of a week indicator is placed at the 9 o’clock position. Finally, there is a double date window at the 11 o’clock position. The darker silver outer ring features applied silver hour marks and the minute track round its outer rim. The dial is protected by a domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides.
The renowned Swiss watchmaker put a special emphasis on the power reserve indication, taking care of both functionality and its design. When the mechanism is fully wound, the watch works up to 55 hours. When the hand points to the red zone on the indicator, it is time for winding the watch. Since it is powered by the self-winding mechanism, any movement of the watch starts winding.
