Ulysse Nardin is famous in the world of watchmaking as the first manufactorer to develop a perpetual calendar that can be completaly adjusted forward and backward to the year 2100 by a single crown. Paired with a GMT dislpay and a big date indicator, this great comblication higlights the new Blue Toro. Thus, date, day, month and year go automaticly forward or backward, following the hour hand when it is set to a new local time, across the dateline with pushers (+) or (-). At the same time, the third, arrow shaped hand keeps track of a permanent home time.
The new Blue Toro is a true luxury piece, with its boldly looking case crafted in 18 karat rose gold. It has the mid-sized diameter of 43mm and incorporates a screw-down crown and a blue ceramic bezel with the 24 hours scale. The design of a striking blue dial is a special story. Someone can find it over-croweded and difficult to read, but once you get used to this multi-functional dial with several unproporcional displays, it becomes a real pleasure. Besides, squeletted hands alow easy reading of all calendar functions. In order to complete the total blueness, there is a blue rubber strap with titanium or ceramic deployant clasp or a leather strap with a folding buckle.
The mechanism that poweres the watch, equiping it with stuning complications is an in-house developed and manufactured automatic Caliber UN-32. Featureing a 22 karat gold rotor and 34 jewels, this COSC certificated mechanism is completely exposed through an anti-reflective sapphire crystal case back. It provides the powere-reserve of 45 hours. Along with the great functionality, striking design and aclamed acuracy, the new Ulysse Nardin’s timepiece possesses a solid durability under the water, being resistant up to 100 meters (330 feet).
