What a fabulous opening of the Baselword 2012 for Omega. Along with the already covered Seamaster Aqua Terra GMT, the famous Swiss watchmaker has surprised us with a stunning Spacemaster Z-33 and absolutely amazed us with Speedmaster Racing watch. Finally, with the Seamaster Planet Ocean 45.5 mm Ceragold Chronograph, Omega presents the new luxury material of its iconic model. Discover these and other brand’s novelties and enjoy in amazing masterpieces.
Inspired by the iconic “Pilot Line” case that had been used in the past in Flightmaster, Seamaster and Speedmaster families, the Spacemaster Z-33 is powered with a new Caliber 5666 quartz movement that provides a full package of useful features for professional pilots.
The watch combines an analog dial with two digital displays which are controlled by four pushers and a crown, located at the 3 o’clock position. Beside analog hands that track hours, minutes and seconds, the digital display also displays time in two time zones (in 12 or 24 hour display). Furthermore, it can be programmed to show UTC, a date via the perpetual calendar and the elapsed time via the chronograph and the countdown timer. It also features the alarm and the auto-programmable professional pilot functions that can log up to ten flights and record them with date-hour indications.
Thanks to the transreflective LCD technology, the flaming red indicators have the power to overcome even the most extreme conditions, staying perfectly readable. The white markers of the analog dial are covered with white Super-LumiNova, as well as skeletonized hour and minute hands. In dark conditions the Super-LumiNova provides a green glow for the analogue time measurement hands. Beside, the Spacemaster Z-33 is covered with a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment on both sides to provide a clear view on the display.
The striking case perfectly fits the attractive name of the watch. According to its design, it is prepared for the space mission. It is crafted in grade 5 titanium, combining polished, brushed and sandblasted finishes for the unique aesthetic effect. The screwed in case-back is engraved with the polished OMEGA Seahorse and the brand’s symbol.
Equipped either with a black rubber strap, with striking red inscriptions “OMEGA” and “Speedmaster” or a brown “Soft Touch” leather strap, this timepiece is definitely going to be a highly sought after, not only among professional pilots.
