Designed for modern sporty ladies with the dynamic life style who do not want to miss a chance to look glamorous, even in the most casual situation, the newest Audemars Piguet’s masterpiece brings together an impeccable style, a high-end technology and the serious touch of luxury. At the SIHH 2013, the prestigious Swiss watchmaker presented two versions of this masterpiece – the one made of stainless steel in the Limited Edition of 150 pieces and the other limited to just 10 pieces which come in white gold, both adorned by precious stones.
This is the year of the Royal Oak Offshore Collection, exactly two decades since the first extravagant sport model from the range was introduced, so we can expect a lot of ROO during the year. We have already introduced some stunning models from the man’s line, bold, masculine and highly functional, but aesthetically, neither of them has reached so high level as the ladies’ ROO, called Ladycat which absolutely suits to its character. It is dedicated to the racing catamaran sponsored by the famous brand, specific as the only catamaran in this sailing competition with a lady at its helm.
Without doubt, this is one of the brand’s most beautiful chronographs designed for women. It shows new boat’s colors (black, gold and green) on the subtle way and with a lot of style. A black dial decorated with the brand’s iconic “Méga Tapisserie” pattern features pink gold applied Arabic numerals indicating hours, as well as Royal Oak hands coated with luminescent material. Black mother-of-pearl chronograph counters are assigned at 3, 6 and 9 o’clock positions, while the date aperture takes the position between 4 and 5 o’clock.
The case of the Royal Oak Offshore Ladycat Chronograph watch has the diameter of 37mm and features an octagonal, rubber-clad bezel completely set with diamonds, as well as a screw-locked crown and chrono push buttons. Along with sparkling stones on a folding clasp and links, there are 323 diamonds in total (approximately 5.82 carats). The back-side of the case is engraved with the Ladycat and Royal Oak Offshore logos.
The watch is powered by an in-house Calibre 2385 self-winding mechanism. This stunning movement with a column wheel chronograph comprises 304 components, including a monobloc oscillating weight made of 18 karat gold, as well as 37 jewels. It oscillates at the frequency of 21’600 vibrations per hour and provides 40 hours of power-reserve.
The sporty nature of the Royal Oak Offshore Ladycat Chronograph is highlighted by the implementation of a black rubber strap with either stainless steel or white gold AP folding clasp which nicely matches other rubber parts of the watch. With the water-resistance of up to 50 meters (165 feet), it can be used in water on low depths, for swimming or on a yacht, but I’m sure that most of ladies would keep this beauty safe and dry.
